I've been grappling with anxiety, depression, and a constant search for external validation. My life has often revolved around others' interests, leaving me feeling lonely and comparing myself to others. But today, on August 1st, I've decided to take a significant step in not only rebranding my WithMalorie business. I've also decided to work on my own identity and focus redefining who I am.
In the Bible, there's a powerful stort about Paul and Saul that resonates with my journey. Just like Saul, who later became known as Paul, I'm on a path of transformation. Saul was once a persecutor of Christians but underwent a profound change of heart, becoming one of the most influential figures in Christianity. This story reminds me that people can change, grow, and evolve into something entirely different from their past selves.
My decision to redefine myself starts with embracing my struggles and vulnerabilities. I acknowledge my anxiety, depression, and the need for external validation. Instead of letting them define me, I'm choosing to learn and grow from these experiences, just as Paul did on his journey of transformation.
The verse that captures the essence of this parable is Acts 9:4-5:
"Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' And he said, 'Who are You, Lord?' Then the Lord said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'"
This verse represents the moment when Saul's transformation began, and he realized the impact of his actions. Like Saul, I've had moments of realization that have prompted me to take a step back and question my own choices and behaviors.
In my pursuit of self-discovery and growth, I'm learning to let go of past patterns and embrace my unique journey. I've decided to break away from being a serial dater, seeking validation from others, and instead focus on building a more authentic and fulfilling life for myself and my child.
I understand that this journey won't be without challenges. Like Paul, who faced obstacles after his transformation, I expect moments of introspection and self-realization. However, I'm committed to celebrating every milestone and learning experience along the way.
This transformation is about acknowledging my strengths, celebrating my uniqueness, and finding inner validation. It's a journey of becoming the best version of myself, recognizing that I can be one thing one day and something entirely different the next.
As I embrace this journey, I draw inspiration from the story of Paul and Saul. I am taking the first step towards a more empowered and authentic self, and I'm excited to see where this transformation will lead me.
